NEW CHILDREN'S PLAY AREA

New children's play fortress now open, with slides, climbing walls and ladders this new fort is an addition to our already exisiting play area, ensuring lots of fun for children on a sunny afternoon. Parents can enjoy the sun with a glass of wine and lunch while children play in the fresh air.

NEW WOOD BURNING STOVE IN RESTAURANT

Another new addition in 2011 is the wood burning stove in the restaurant, perfect for keeping the restaurant cosy and environmentally friendly during the winter months. The perfect snug environment for a latte, cappuccino or hot chocolate during those cold winter days.

SUNDAY LUNCHES AND PENSIONERS SPECIALS

Sunday lunches are now back on the menu. Served every Sunday between 12noon and 2 p.m. Choose from 1,2 or 3 courses. As we are a licensed restaurant we can also offer you a glass of wine or a bottle of beer to compliment your meal. Come out and relax in our cosy restaurant and enjoy your Sunday lunch.

Friday is pensioners day. 1,2 or 3 course meals are served every Friday from 12 noon until 2 p.m. The wood burning stove will be on for you gving the restaurant a relaxed warm feel to it.

2012 BOOKINGS

We are now taking deposits for bookings for 2012. A £25 deposit per wigwam is required to secure your wigwam. If you are thinking of booking for 2012 dont delay. Many weekends are already booked up.

We can now take bookings online. So if you are very busy and dont have time to phone to book or want to do it at night when the booking office is not open then thats fine just follow the link on www.northumbrianwigwams,com We will deal with the booking on our return to the office and send an email confirmation to you- its that easy! However if you want to phone and book then thats fine too- Anne would be delighted to hear from you.

BOREWELL PRODUCE

Sales of our own beef both in the shop and by e mail have gone from strength to strength.  orders can be taken in the shop, by phone or email. This is pure Aberdeen Angus Beef at its best.  Come along and see for yourself.

Deborah has been busy in the kitchen making preseves, jams and chutneys with the abundance of apples we have had this year in the Borewell Orchard. There are several Jams to choose from and the Apple and Date Chutney is to die for!

HAMPERS OF YOUR CHOICE NOW BEING MADE

Our staff are now taking orders for Christmas Hampers. Choose from the wide range of goodies we have in the Country Shop and our staff will pack and wrap the perfect Christmas present for you. SHOP NEWS 2011

We now have a new team member who is responsible for the shop and wigwam bookings both online and by telephone. Anne joined our team last July and she has brought with her a wealth of experience in dealing with accomodation bookings. To speak to Anne in connection with a booking please tel. 01289 307107.

Well we are all gearing up for another busy summer, the wigwams are getting pretty booked up so if you are coming to visit us we look forward to seeing you soon!

There are alot of new gift ideas in the shop for you to choose from.  We have costume jewellery which has been very popular together with several high quality scarves and matching clutch bags. We have a selection of travel rugs, quality candles and infusion sticks.

There is a new selection of bottled beers from Cottage Delight. Choose from the Great British Beer, Armchair Referee, A Real Hooker, or Howzat, the perfect gift to take home for Dad or Grandpa.

We now sell ice-cream from Luca's of Musselburgh. This ice-cream has proved to be very popular with both visitors and locals alike. Main flavours include vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. Come along and try it for yourself!

For the outdoors, we have a selection of kettle barbacues complete with charcoal. We have adult and children outdoor chairs. To keep the flies and bugs away we have a range of citronella candles to choose from.

We have now dedicated a corner of the shop for emergency supplies for our campers, just incase you forget to pack some necessities of life.

AVRIL THE ABERDEEN ANGUS COW

Avril the cow and her sisters and friends are all grazing down at the beach at the moment. There could be quite a few changes within our herd in the next few years as John and Dan have travelled all over the country looking for quality bulls for breeding purposes and eventually found two in Cornwall. Couldn't have gone much further if they tried, however, we have the bulls home now and they are getting to know Avril and all her friends. If you are ever down at the beach take time to stop and have a look at the cows. They are a very friendly bunch. Autumn calving starts late August- a first for us so we are very excited about this. Some of these are embryo transplants so it is all new for us. We will let you know how we get on in the next newsletter.
